More Life in Room 131

Here is some more things that we do in Room 131:

Angel and Jalisa say: "We work hard and we try our hardest to do our work."

Mariusz says: "We work hard; we don't fuss. We are so industrious"

Naiheem says: "We do our morning work and sometimes it is hard for us because sometimes we don't understand it like "How many eggs are there?" and we don't know the answer right away.

Ja'Shanique says: "We worked hard singing songs like "Lean On Me" and "With My Own Two Hands".
Jalisa and Joey and Mariusz say: "We try hard to not make interruptions during the song. Right here we are recording a song. Sometimes we mess up, but we just have to try again. And we never give up."

Antonio says: "We are reading Writer's Workshop stuff."

Muhammad says: "We have to write stories until Writer's Workshop is over."

Tre'Shawn says: "We like to type. It is very fun and we do our best."

Joey says: "Right here, we are playing a game called "Dance-Mat-Typing". All these animals are dancing around, and we have to do what they say."

Jalisa says:"When we are on the computer, we have to type and listen to the goat, chicken, and other animals."

Muhammad says:"We put our pointer fingers on J and F, and we have to put hand sanitizer on before we go in, because we have germs on our hands."

Naiheem says:"We play with Coach Free and we learn new games and we have to stand on numbers and touch colors."

Ja'Shanique says:"Coach Free thinks about different games at Playworks and Lunch Recess."

Mariusz says:"In this picture we were at Playworks. We have to knock the cone down and we have to hit some body below the waist with a ball."

Angel and Joey say: "The name of the game is "Cone Castles."

What our class is up to:

Tyree says: I am being good and principled.

Blessing says: Our school is named after Martin Luther King. He made black people and white people get together.
Sebastian says: Everybody in our school is a good person.
Ranyla: We always listen to people who are talking.
Timon: Me and my friends made a rap.
Pascual says: We like to do math and we like to play around at recess.
Gladimir: Me and my friends play soccer on the tennis courts at recess.
Cainnan says: Me and my friends play Bulldog and we play basketball and football.
Charlecia: Sometimes we go to the computer lab. In the computer lab we are learning to type. During IB, we work on our communication devices.
Anasya says: When I see someone who is hurt, I help them and I try to cheer them up.
Aiden says: We are making a blog so that people know about our lives at school.
Sham says: We work hard at reading.
Hakim says: Making our communicator projects is fun.

Communication Inventions!

Ja'Shanique and Joey say: "We were building inventions to help people communicate."

Jalisa (and the rest of the class) says: "We used toilet paper rolls, popsicle sticks, foil, pipe cleaners, cereal boxes, tape, rubber bands, and tissue paper and glue and scissors to build our inventions."

Litzy and Naiheem say: "We didn't know that we had to put inventions together until Mr. Allen told us to. The name of our invention is Ball Shooter. When somebody puts a ball where the paper is, that goes in the hole, until it gets to the button. When you turn the nob on the side, you can talk to the friend that you roll it to."

Celeste and Absa say, "We made different phones and ipods and a microphone"

Angel and AJ say, "Our invention changes your voice for the whales."

Joey and Orion say, "This is called the floater, and it helps people communicate by the whole in the front and the back whole, you can put letters in there, and it will float across the sea until it gets to the person you want to send it to. The engine is not what you think it is. The tissues covers the engine."

Celeste and Absa say, "We made it with lots of stuff. We worked hard! We used sticks for the microphone."
